Pet Services Map

This resource is intended to better connect those with cancer and other physical limitations with Colorado pet-related service providers, ultimately decreasing stress around caring for pets and strengthening relationships between humans and their furry friends! Colorado State University and the University of Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center, as a part of the study A One Health Approach to Supporting Breast Cancer Survivors and Their Companion Animals, recognized the multitude of challenges that can come from caring for a pet while also participating in treatment and caring for one’s own health.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies

Working towards the day when every pet has a loving home. Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster homes until their forever homes are found. We promote spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation and encourage quality relationships between pets and their people through behavior resources and training.

Evergreen Animal Protective League

The Evergreen Animal Protective League (EAPL) was organized in April, 1981 to aid lost, abandoned, and suffering animals through rescue, shelter, and education.  Since that time, the League has provided a better life for thousands of cats, dogs, and other pets.

From Forgotten to Forever

From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport started in 2015 with a mission of transporting dogs and cats out of high kill shelters in New Mexico north to Colorado. The transport side of the operation is responsible for assisting dozens of rescues in rescuing thousands of animals from Death Row over the years. In August of 2018, the rescue operation opened and since then has been responsible for the creation of hundreds of happy families through direct placement adoptions and expanded intake areas to include parts of Texas and remote areas of Colorado.

Front Range Freedom Rescue

Front Range Freedom Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based rescue located throughout the Denver Metro area and Boulder County.

Our mission focuses primarily on the rescue and rehoming of homeless cats, primarily through transfer from rescues in New Mexico, Kansas, and other areas where pet overpopulation has reached critical levels. Our goals are to rehabilitate these animals through good nutrition, expert veterinary care, and socialization in loving foster homes.

My Fairy Dawg Mother

We are a Colorado based non-profit dog rescue focused on finding the perfect long term home for each dog brought under our rescue umbrella. My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue, Inc, established in early 2011,  boasts a 100% success rate with over 800 dogs that have been placed since the creation of the rescue.

My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue was founded in an effort to save abused and neglected dogs from across the United States, and pair them with loving and stable Colorado families. Read our Founder’s message.

Our formula for successful placement of each rescue dog lies in a plan that includes foster homes, behavioral modification training, complete vetting, an adoption agreement, and a trial period offered to every adoption candidate with their potential canine companion.

RezDawg Animal Rescue

RezDawg Rescue collaborates with several rescues in NM, AZ and CO to ensure the safe and comfortable transport of unwanted animals to rescues, shelters and fosters where they will have a chance at a forever home. We relocate dogs and cats from high-intake shelters, animal control facilities, and reservations in the Four Corners area to animal rescue partners and forever homes in Colorado. We provide transportation to foster homes and other partner organizations, offer medical care and low/no cost spay and neuter services, manage a network of foster homes for temporary shelter, and run adoption events so that these animals can find forever homes.

Until They’re Home

Until They’re Home offers a unique twist on animal rescue. We believe that education and understanding go a long way in helping to keep animals out of the shelter system. We offer non-judgemental help for those who are struggling to keep their pets at home, as well as more traditional rescue services such as fostering and adoption. We also work to help shelters implement new programs or support existing ones. Until They’re Home can help with behavioral issues, tech/website support, marketing and networking, and so much more!
